Wiki"Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see" Benjamin Franklin This quote means that I shouldn't believe people what people say just because they say it, and half of what I see because what I see is not always the truth. This quote is more like the saying "I have to see it to believe it" is like not everyone is going to tell me what I want to hear their some people who rather lie then be honest. This quote could mean a lot of things it can either be good or bad. I think the true meaning is a strong one because this is one great quote. This article is about a internet character assassination, who worked before with Robert Kennedy administrative assistant in the early 1960s. He discovered about false information about himself on the Wikipedia. John Seigenthaler Sr. said "I have no idea whose sick mind conceived the false, malicious "biography" that appeared under my name for 132 days on Wikipedia, the popular, online, free encyclopedia whose authors are unknown and virtually untraceable." This shows me how their are just sick people on the internet who are willing to put your personal business out their. This is why I never take what anyone sends me over the internet, especially those false prizes. Mr. Seigenthaler found out that the false information had been on the internet for several months. A Wikipedia is multilingual encyclopedia project supported by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation. After finding out what happen to Mr. Seigenthaler Wikipedia decided to make the rules more stricter to prevent another case like this ever happening. Laws said you can sue someone who doesn't take down or write something personal that correspond to you but you have to know who posted it like it said in this article "Of course, Seigenthaler might sue the anonymous author for libel - but only if he could find him! In Seigenthaler's case, the author was initially traceable only to a BellSouth Internet account - and the Internet Service Provider (ISP) wouldn't reveal his or her name." Then later on the man who wrote this false information about Mr. Seigenthaler said it was a joke and revealed in self. Brian Chase said that he was just playing a joke and that " he didn't know the free Internet encyclopedia called Wikipedia was used as a serious reference tool."
